If you're looking at this then you probably already know what weight bags are for. And usually these come with the concept of only carrying around the lightweight container and then using locally sourced weight (a.k.a. “sand”) to hold things in place. But then there is the potential to get sand, dirt, or other loose debris into your expensive gear while in transit away from the site. Or perhaps one just doesn't want to have to dig around in the dirt just to stabilize equipment. These are some things that make this multi-pocket weight bag a genius solution. The good: Clean. No dirt or sand digging. Convenient. One uses the weight of supplies already transported to the site. Fast. Just slide water bottles, soda bottles, cans etc. into the pockets. Adjustable. Lighter weight needed? Just use smaller containers - or don't fill all the compartments.Other features are quite similar to devices of this type; heavy-duty construction (this one is heavier than most), heavy-duty suspension strap, carabiner, to name a few. This one has the distinction of holding its shape very well.An area where this one is really set apart from the field is the ability to rapidly adjust counterweight in predictable increments. So it reacts quickly to adjustments in set-up: Is your light source, microphone, or other gear on a boom needing to move in or out on its reach? Add a bottle or two, or remove them...or just slide the bag inward or outward a little. The point being that adjustments are rapid and precise keeping one focused on content creation rather than production tinkering. There really is no “less than good” or “bad” category here. But I will throw in “things to consider”: The only real item that comes to mind: Unlike sand or dirt, rocks, etc., that already exist at the production site, this method does make it likely that the counter-weight media requires lugging into the location. As pointed out above however it is VERY likely one is using items that one has already carted in, as it is likely the crew and talent will just work better while hydrated.Bottom line: What is not to like about this novel solution? This multi-pocket carry weight bag packs away lightly and compactly, and maximizes the utility of items one would probably have brought along anyway. And this method offers a plethora of adjustment options. It also seems to have a greater potential for overall stabilizing or counter-weight mass than the conventional methods. 5 Stars.
