A common misconception is that tripods are only for holding cameras when in fact they are utilized for far broader use cases. Telescopes, binoculars, surveying and leveling products, lights, and just about any other item that needs to be present but is not easily or efficiently held.I have always preferred tri-pods with the dual-tube, double-extending legs type similar to these sticks. The design allows for precision leveling of the base of the tripod in a much more secure way that is quick and easy to use. The legs are structurally wider allowing for a more rigid stance.Fully extended, the height of the ball head is above 6 feet (1.8 m). I am just under 6 ft and was able to view through a pair of binoculars without having to stoop or squat. The tripod was stable too, I mean, you won't want to touch it, but ambient wind did not affect it, no vibrations. The tripod head is pretty good. Not too fancy, but a solid mount for equipment up to 17 lbs. The dovetail plate has ample mounting options of items of all sizes. There is a pan bar included for smooth pans or tilts; it feels solid but that means it will relay vibrations. I would consider it comparable to some mid-range heads that by themselves sell for more than this whole kit does. The tripod also includes a carry bag with a strap. It is rounded and perfectly envelopes the tripod so that it is held securely and won't shift while toting it around. I think it's a solid, all-around tripod that provides multiple degrees of utility.
