As an amatuer photographer that has been improving steadily and increasing kit over the years, I had been finding my once perfectly acceptable ball head tripod was no longer fit for purpose when it came to shooting and filming wildlife with a super telephoto lens. This head alone was more expensive than my previous tripod (and I did buy a new Innorel tripod to go with this head) but even with my first uses it is so much easier to use when trying to quickly track birds and animals in my local woodland.The head is heavy, chunky, but very easy to adjust. Panning and tilting perform very smoothly even with a heavy camera and lens in use. There is a great range in adjustment available, and I've not yet had anything go out of range from the spots I've set up in. Stability is great too, I can set the camera where I want and even at max focal length there is very little in the way of shake - this is also down to the tripod used in combo, but speaks to the solidity of this head too.Recommended!
