This light stand is sturdy enough for my use. I've found it is also very stable when using it up to about 15' in a light breeze and with my equipment weighing up to 5 lbs. The base is a tripod that extends out to about 6’ and can be weighed down with the 3 included sandbags. The light stand extends up to 20' high. At that height and with my 4.5lb light, there was a bit of swaying, but it wasn’t too bad. You will definitely want to use the included sandbags when extending it that high. If using a camera of that weight to record video from that height, and if there is a slight breeze, you will likely find the video will be a bit shaky if not using a gimbal, but for lighting, a slight sway doesn't bother me.This is a fantastic light stand for my purposes. I use it for creating outdoor lighting situations that shine through 2nd floor windows and for outdoor lighting effects. It comes with 3 sandbags. - See photos. It includes a convenient carrying case that is about 68” long, 3 sandbags, and is very easy to set up and teardown. I give the Gltire 20ft Heavy Duty Light Stand 5 stars!
